Hillsong Highlights – Days 1 and 2

It’s been an amazing couple of days at Hillsong Conference. Amazing and exhausting. I was hoping to get a bit of time between sessions to process and blog some of things that God has been speaking to me but the schedule is way too packed. Either you are running between sessions or queuing up to […]

Make Him Known Among the Nations

This morning, I had the privilege of leading an epic worship time at Faith Community Church. Epic in the way young people use that word these days, but also epic in theological and prophetic scope. Isaiah 12:4 says this: Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name Make known among the nations what he […]

Submission

Most of us don’t like the word ‘submission’. It’s often thought of as a sign of weakness, of constraint, or worse still, subjugation. But mutual submission is actually an important key to building a strong team. A long time ago, I thought that if I ever got to the top of the pyramid, I would […]

Intense

We had an amazing time of worship last Sunday. Pastor Yoy began the service by exhorting the congregation to engage in praise, prayer and the prophetic. From my earlier post regarding last Sunday’s setlist, I shared about how we needed more of the Holy Spirit in our lives and in our services. It was the same message […]

Reducing the Element of Surprise in Worship

Most of us don’t like surprises. They can be difficult to handle precisely because we are not prepared for them. This morning on my way to work the car battery went flat. And the car didn’t come with roadside assistance. I was flustered. I made a few phone calls to the missus. Then I decided […]

Set List – Faith Community Church (18 May 2014)

At Faith Community Church, we are about to enter into a Season of Prayer where the theme will be hosting God’s presence. I’m reading a fantastic book about the Holy Spirit at the moment called Holy Fire by RT Kendall. Kendall is a conservative reformed pastor (he was pastor of Westminster Chapel for 25 years […]

We are Called God’s Delight

I heard Mike Bickle share this today from Isaiah 62:4 No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate, but you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah, for the Lord will take delight in you and your land will be married. Hephzibah means “my delight is in her”. God loves […]

God’s Glory on Our City

Yesterday was Easter Sunday, the day the church celebrates Christ’s resurrection from the dead. It was also a pretty full-on day for me. I had the honour of leading worship at Faith Community Church’s Easter Service, serving with Fantastic Team 3 which is always a joy for me. For the first time in recent memory, […]

Why Easter Saturday is the Most Underrated Day This Weekend

Yesterday was Good Friday. On Good Friday, we commemorate Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. It’s a crucially important moment in the history of mankind. As Luther once said, “the cross tests everything”. The cross makes all the difference. Tomorrow, we will celebrate Easter Sunday, the day of Christ’s resurrection from the dead. But I reckon […]
