Global Day of Worship Song: Rooftops

As we are getting closer to Global Day of Worship on 12.12.12, I thought I might start sharing some of the songs we are doing so that you can familiarise yourself with them in preparation.

I believe that what we do in corporate worship is never confined to those on the platform. Rather, both the platform ministers and the congregation should be joining together to give an exuberant and glorious offering to God, the audience of one.

In my younger days, I used to keep the songlist a secret so that it wouldn’t ruin the “element of surprise”. Now, I believe that, where possible, the congregation should be just as prepared as the music team.

So with this philosophy, I’ll release Youtube links of some of the songs that we will be doing, particularly the less familiar ones. Ultimately though I believe that we have chosen songs that are widely sung in the body of Christ.

Today, I am posting Jesus Culture’s “Rooftops”.  Enjoy!

ROOFTOPS

Here I am before you
Falling in love and seeking your truth
Knowing that your perfect grace
Has brought me to this place
Because of you I freely live
My life to you, oh God, I give
So I stand before You God
I lift my voice because you set me free

So I shout out your name from the rooftops I proclaim
That I am Yours, I am Yours
All that I am, I place into Your mighty hands
I am Yours, I am Yours

All the good You’ve done for me
I lift up my hands for all to see
You’re the only one
Who brings me to my knees
To share this love across the earth
The beauty of Your Holy Word
So I stand before You God
I lift my voice because you set me free

Here I am I stand with arms wide open
To the One the Son
The everlasting God
The everlasting God
