About the Choir
The FCC 100 Choir is an initiative of Faith Community Church, Perth (FCC).
There is a grassroots movement all over the world in which people in the community gather to sing in a choir to make social connections. The FCC 100 Choir is an expression of that movement – but with a gospel purpose. Beyond community building, the Choir will lead worship on Sunday 17 August 2025 across two services at FCC Willetton. For many in the Choir, this will be the first time they will have sung with a live band, let alone in front of around 2,000 people.
But the intent is also that, as we lead the congregation, we will also learn about the importance of worship, both in the wide sense of its encompassing the whole of our lives and in the narrow sense of why the praise gathering is such an integral part of the life of the church. The 100 Choir is therefore about educating a large section of the church in the expressions of praise.
Lastly, a great gospel community is invitational. The 100 Choir is an opportunity to invite friends and family into the experience, if not participation in the Choir itself, but to “come and see”, in the hope that beyond spectatorship, our family and friends will encounter God in an atmosphere of His presence.
Objectives
- Raise the watermark of corporate worship in FCC by training 100 people in singing techniques and in deepening their understanding of the theology of worship and its expressions
- Create a touchpoint for intergenerational social connection within the Church
- Create a platform for invitational witness for our unchurched friends and family
